Rob's Track Report

The Malaysian Grand Prix is new on the GPVWC calendar for 2001. Not a lot is known about the Sepang circuit other then the fact that it has a blend of straights and slow 180 degree corners, and appears to be a circuit which suits low downforce.

A lightning fast series of uphill and downhill turns are linked to long straights which run almost parallel and are seperated by a huge grandstand which houses thousands of cheering and excited Malaysian F1 fans.

Drivers will be tested over the race distance, particularly as this circuit can be difficult to build and maintain a race rhythm, and drivers can be prone to making mistakes. It will be very interesting to see the results of qualifying and the race, as this circuit is new to all and it promises to shuffle the pack.
